Wairarapa Newborn Photo Session

I’ve just booked a newborn session. How do they generally run?

This depends entirely on the star of the show! Your wee bubba.

If I arrive and bubs is super out to it, I will take advantage of that and grab some shots of him alone on my beanbag. These shots are the trickiest to get, as baby needs to be super settled and relaxed to be content without mum.

In this particular Wairarapa photo session, our mini model needed all the snuggles from mum. So we just went with it, and got some amazing (if I can say so myself) photos with mum, dad, and big brother.

I always get detail (close up) images of your wee one’s hands and feet, and any other details that catch my eye. These are usually taken while your bubba is fast asleep on the beanbag, or else I will snag a shot while she’s snoozing in your arms.

I will never force your baby to do something they don’t want to. If he’s over his model career, I’ll stop- or at least change directions with a feed, snuggle, or whatever he wants.

Newborn photo sessions all vary- I don’t have a schedule or shot list. You know how newborns are- they run the show and nothing is ever on time. So please don’t stress if you feel your bub isn’t “behaving.” I promise a relaxed mama leads to a relaxed baby, and I schedule in extra time to cover any feeding, burping, or snuggling your baby asks for.
