Capturing Love: A Wairarapa Wedding Story

On a typical Wairarapa day- and by typical I mean the way the weather kept changing it’s mind, making sure everyone was on their toes until the last moment when the rain cleared and allowed these two to exchange vows outdoors- Tom and Hannah, two kindred spirits, said “I do” surrounded by close family and friends.

The day unfolded with a sense of calm (with a side of butterflies) and joy, echoing the essence of their relationship. From the intimate ceremony to the heartfelt vows, every moment was a testament to their deep connection.

As a photographer, I was honored to witness and capture the subtle glances, the tender embraces, and the shared laughter that filled the air. Hannah’s eyes sparkled with happiness, reflecting the love she held for Tom, whose gaze never wavered from her, resonating with unwavering devotion.

After the ceremony we hopped in a car to head to a hidden gem for some formal(ish) portraits. The green rolling hills of the Wairarapa landscape provided a stunning backdrop and no one minded dodging the occasional sheep poo for some stunning views.

In every photograph, their love shone brightly, a beacon of hope and happiness for all who witnessed it. It was a privilege to capture the essence of their love story, to freeze those fleeting moments in time. A few rounds of rock, paper, scissors later and we headed back to catch up with the guests and a cold beverage.

May their love story continue to unfold, a beacon of hope and a testament to the enduring power of love, and shared love for Jesus. And may their days be filled with laughter, joy, and an abundance of blessings as they navigate life's adventures together as one.

In the heart of Wairarapa, amidst the beauty of nature and the love that knows no bounds, Hannah and Tom wrote a new chapter in their love story — a chapter that I was privileged to witness and capture and through the lens of my camera.
