A Photo a Day

I started this photo 365 challenge on a whim, after seeing another photographer’s year-end recap of their 365 challenge on New Year’s Day. I was totally blown away by her images, and completely inspired to try give it a go for myself. Not only to improve my own photography skills, but also to document my family as it grows and changes.

The first few weeks were hard. Really hard. I was so ready to give up so many times. Just a few more days, I would tell myself, and then I’ll quit. But then it would get easier, and the photos ideas would just come to me. I’ll just do three months, it was then.

But the funny thing is, after pushing through day after day, picking up my camera every single day it just became a habit. Now I feel if I’ve skipped a day or two, I NEED to pick up my camera and get behind it. I NEED to document my baby’s lives.

Yes, I still have days where I feel bla, it’s a dark, gloomy day, and my house is a mess that it’s still a struggle. But, it’s so much easier to find the beauty in the every day then when I began my 365 journey. I’m not saying every photo is jaw dropping gorgeous. In fact, some are rather average indeed. But, I feel that if I look back to the start, I can see improvement, and that’s enough for me.

Also the memories of my babies and our family are priceless to me. I’ll be able to look back on an ordinary day and remember the magic of childhood, and watch my kids grow day by day.

So pick up your phone, or dust off your camera and get snapping! I highly recommend.

These photos will only increase in value to our family as we grow older.

Here are some of my favorite photos in my 365 challenge.
