Sam & Dan's Makoura Lodge Wedding | Wedding Photographer

There is something pretty special about a spring wedding in the countryside. The days are getting longer, everything is starting to green up, and when the sun decides to show up, it makes for a pretty perfect wedding day.

Sam and Dan's wedding at Makoura Lodge was exactly that.

Set amongst the beautiful rural landscape of Manawatū, Makoura Lodge provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. The morning was relaxed, with plenty happening before the ceremony, including a spot of clay bird shooting for the lads. A pretty good way to spend the morning if you ask me.

One of my favourite parts of the day was Sam and Dan's private first touch. Having that quiet moment together before the business of the day began gave them a chance to slow down, take it all in and enjoy being with each other other before walking down the aisle, all while keeping the big walk down the isle a surprise.

From the beautiful spring sunshine to the laughs, happy tears and all the little in-between moments, their wedding day was full of personality and genuine connection. There was plenty of time spent celebrating with family and friends, soaking up the countryside and enjoying everything Makoura Lodge had to offer.

It was such a beautiful day to be part of, and one I'll be very happy to look back on.
